Yep... That sounds about right ... and when they say 4 weeks - read 4months
Not one I've found yet (who's any good) sticks to their promise :(

Always the little jobs that I under estimate :(
The front one is proving to be a bit more of a challenge.....just getting it apart

All that rust and crap just because someone couldn't be arsed to replace a split rubber boot on the piston :(
(thanks for the tip Martin, I should have it apart later today)

Cheers
Bernie :)

I wouldn't bother with that one and just get another one. It's exactly the same as most others from Kawa of that era and shouldn't cost much second hand. might even be cheaper that a seal-kit.

Hi Jan,
Even if I bought a second hand one, I would want to refurb it, as I have spent a lot of time and money doing the rest of the braking system.

I have got it apart, cleaned and painted now :)

Just need to wait until it dries and reassemble it :)

Ive just realised Bernie has a Chrome effect work bench! No doubt treated with liberal applications of Solvol.

Well I eventually got the brakes fitted just need to bleed them next.

I always thought my rear mudguard had been cut down, but it would appear to be standard and uncut (when compaired with a NOS one \:D/

Thanks but once again the simple things seem to confound me :(
I am attempting to bleed my front brakes and the fluid is pissing out up the threads of the bleed nipple when I loosen it to pump the fluid through.
Pump, keep lever depressed, slacken nipple1/4 turn, lock nipple, release lever, pump etc, (I am using an easybleed, oneway valve and tube).

I am sure if the fluid is coming out of the threads, then air could be pulling back in.

It is taking an age, and I am getting fluid all over my caliper :(

Should there be something in the threads?

My bike may not have turned a wheel in anger, but I am a different matter

Front brakes done (just about) I may need a few more bleeds, but they feel good at the moment.

I was going to do the back brake, but I realised I dont know where the bracket is for mounting the res.

So, a job for tomorrow (later today).
