I see that PJME call the skirt coating "teflon". As far as I know (despite its self-lubricating properties), real Teflon repels oil.
I have had many piston skirts coated with Molybdenum Disulphide and this coating attracts oil. However, I've also been told that some piston makers/suppliers describe their coating as "teflon" even though it may not be.
I believe there are other piston skirt coatings available which also attract oil. If anyone buys a set of these pistons, could you please put some oil on the skirt coating and see whether it appears to be attracted or repelled...and let us know?
