Hi folks
I need to change the KR1S forks seals and oil change.
In the manuals are different capacity:
KR-1: 421ml +-4ml when assembling
KR-1S: 360ml +-4ml when assembling
i thought both bike has the same fork?
regards
dirk

no they're different. KR1 got 37mm forks and KR1S 41mm.

I don't know
I know the KR1S fork has got 120mm travel, the KR1 130mm. That might explain some difference, but probably their design is just different

wrong Charles

, they are both 41mm, all parts are exchangeable, except the outer tubes are different, 'cause they have different brakcalipers and a different wheel spindle.
so why is the capacity different ? don't now, but probably 'cause it leads to a different set-up.

compared the length between spindle and top of fork leg on mine as
KR1 always looked higher than S at the front
the S forks were i think about 15mm shorter in this distance - might
have something to do with it

may explain the kr1's overdamped forks, the 1s was probably revamped to try and calm things down a bit but still a bit choppy on a bad road, i have wrists that agree im right! on a track however the std forks with there old oil are akin to a motocross bike in terms of been sloppy! maxton do a good job of rectifying the problem apparantly, hope to find out at some point over winter.
