Barrels are Back !

Finally got my barrels back from a plater in South Africa . Sent them via Hyside Trading here in Aus . Had a hold up with the SA customs , but they look fine .
Onto the engine tonight and try to run it in ASAP . Have the first race of the season this coming Saturday .

What are your running in Tips ???

Please post some information about the pistons you have pictured and also details of the platers.

I normally run them in on the dyno. On the track just do a good few laps and slowly increase the max RPM. IMHO thrashing the engine isn't a problem but making the engine labour at low revs and too high a gear is.

Thanks Elf , will have to take some carefull laps next Saturday .
Have the engine back together tonight and just a couple of things to do before firing it up [-o<
Compression on turning it over feels great .

Pistons are wossner , will get more details . As for the plater , I did get his details from MJ and coincidently a bloke down here uses him .
I did email the chap in SA , but he was not interested in dealing with an individual .

Started her up last night and it fired quiet well but had a carb flooding . And the bloody tank had a small leak

So off with the airbox etc and adjusted the float level and back together .
Fired first kick and sounds great . Probably a bit rich and I think the slides will need adjusting for balance , but its running very well .
Let it warm up to start the bedding in process and shut her down . The neighbours might have needed a bit of peace

Changed the tank for a spare and swopped the cap and fuel tap , its not the cleanest inside but have filters in the lines . Best I can do with time running out .

Looking good there Billy.
As the elf said, the worst thing you can do is make the engine labour.
My theory is to keep the revs where the engine feels crisp (but well below redline). Gradually increase the revs as the engine frees up.
