i have a new chain rubber/slipper to put on the swingarm but i want to drill say a 5mm hole top to bottom to attach it
Question is,is it o.k. to drill the box section

Can it yer old boiler

sure there is a good reason - but why can't you attach it via the normal method?

I should have explained
As my swinger is on an RD and with it jacked up,the chain is touching the swinger more so i have a KX 250 chain rubber which is a bit longer.
Can it yer old boiler

I've drilled and tapped them in the past to fit a shark fin chain guard without problems.
