Now i've got my zxr forks and r6 shock fitted thought i'd give the forks a service(k-tech springs, oil and seals).Got off to a bad start when the oil that game out resembled mud and i snapped an allen key trying to remove the bolt holding the damper rod, but the best was yet to come.Tried to remove the seal by sliding the inner and outer tubes apart by hand, then tried holding lower in a vice and hitting outer with a block off wood, then tried clamping outer in bottom yoke of bike and hitting lower with a shot-filled mallet, the seal would not budge! When i looked at the seal it looked dry and hard so i gave it a squirt with GT-85 and let the PTFE work its magic. 2 minutes later gave the two halves of the forks a gentle pull and out came the seal....unbelievable!!
Anyway moral of this story:- God bless GT-85.
