Oil and water Mixing

Post by alimorg »

Hi All,
right, the crank seals have gone on the KR-1 so I swapped the engine over with a kr-1s unit I had lying around, now it appears that I have water contamination in the gearbox oil (milky sight window) I am going for an oil change tonight in the hope that it is just water that somehow managed to creep in whilst the motor was in storage / being cleaned if its not that where could the water be coming from?
Cheers
Al

I had a similar problem, however, the cause was a blown head gasket, causing the cooling system to over pressurise and blow past the impellar seal. Does the coolant smell of exhaust gasses?

most probably is the waterpump seal.

if the headgasket is blown, airbubles should appear in your radiator.
