I am finally getting round to rebuilding my project bike.
I bought this as several boxes of bits from egay three :oops: years ago. As with most projects of this type there were several bits missing, the good news was that the bits that were there were in good nick.
The plan is to build the best standard bike I can using all the best parts from the three (yes three- don't ask) bikes I have lying around in the garage.
I'm planning on taking photo's as I go along so here are a few of the gearbox rebuild.

I wish i knew something about KR's so i was like knowledgeable about them and everything like what you lot are ;-) :-) :-)

I'll tell you what BM, i'm glad you posted that pic because when I started putting my engine back together the gasket I put on looked bizarre. Its reassuring to know that yours looks exactly the same as mine \:D/

I just thought that because I had an after market gasket set, the gaskets were not cut correctly 8-[

Can you not make two good bikes from the bits you have? The more of these we have on the road the better :lol:

That is what I am doing.
The one that is currently on the road is slowly being modified more and more, I'll post a separate projects thread in a bit.
This one is going to remain standard and the third is just for bits at the moment, it probably could be saved (it's all there) but would cost a fortune.

Fitted the clutch, no pictures of inside I'm afraid; I was too busy swearing at it ](*,)
As I fitted it into place the flat splined washer under the clutch kept moving slightly out of place meaning the clutch wouldn't sit properly. Took me two attempts to sus this out. Once I realised what was happening a small dab of grease to hold it in place and it went on easy.

Next, the top end, but I need to order a genuine headgasket, the one in my dodgy pattern gasket set looks very suspect, like a bit of tin foil.

hi mike nice job coming along there - try alliance electoplating in hull for the bolts i had 2 lots done this year - results were very very impressive ( and cheap)

Well, another update in the fast paced rebuild! I bet you have barely had time to draw breath since the last one.....
I've started on the frame, stripped it down ready for cleaning and spraying.

Made me laugh cos ours is dragging on way past the time I thought I would have had it done.

Keep going though mike, it'll be worth the effort.

The spray booth looks profesional to me :wink:

looking good mike, i thought u were selling, makes mine look a little scabby lol.
