Crank seals

Hi all. How will i know i must replace my crank seals? Plz and thanx

Your transmission oil level will mysteriously drop with no apparent leaks, is one way to tell.

Thanx but iam going 2 use the crank i take out of the old motor so i dont know

I see, so you'll be able to inspect the seals and see if they are perished or have deteriorated.

I can take the seal and move it around the shaft with no problem. And the problem it the inners? So any atwise plz

Crank seals are notorious for going soft and leaking. If you can move them around easily, I would replace them whilst you have it all apart now.

You'll be irritated to have to strip it and replace them if they are leaking.

I'm afraid you can't judge them visually and be 100% sure they will do their job, there's always a risk....
