is there anything special about the 8mm bolts that hold the head on as i have sheared one and need to replace it. Ihad heard that they are stretch bolts.cheers

As far as I'm aware they are just high tensile, (like most bolts on bikes/cars)
Aren't stretch bolts used for 'one time' only? and then replaced with new.

I also thought they were high tensile it was an engineer who suggested stretch bolts

I think they are same dimensions as those on fork lower triple clamp (chrome vs black though - heat)
at a pinch maybe use one off them and get stainless/pro-bolt for clamps (budget)
the number on bolt head gives indication of grade/strength
stretch bolts mostly used on items like con-rod big ends (4T) to achieve exact tolerance on bearing shells etc - one time use as said
all bolts will eventually stretch (non-return to original dimension) if stressed past the 'elastic limit' of the material
