Ring gap

Post by SP_BOTT »

Hi just tried a search for the answer, but found nothing, anyone care to give me some info on the correct wear or tolerance for a standard ring gap please, just measured mine at 0.4mm and don't know if this is acceptable?

Got some new pistons etc, but was going to run what was in there first, and possibly change later, it all looks good, barrels and pistons etc but always like to throw some rings in just in case??

See the manual for all the tollerances and service limits.

http://www.kr-1s.co.uk/manual/Part%2004 ... %20End.pdf

Ring end gap service limit is 0.6mm for the top ring and 0.7mm for the bottom ring.

you can not totaly rely on the ring gap. always check if the bore isn't too worn.

could be your ring gap is ok with new ones, allthough your bore has become too big.
My ultimate goal is to die young as late as possible !
