head problem

Post by edgar90 »

hi everyone!!! :D

i have a question i would like to ask you guys

my 1s is leaking water into RH cylinder,i noticed when i looked into the radiator and saw that the water was gone, and besides that, the water goes out from the thank under the seat through that little hose.

also i knew the water was going into RH cylinder because when i took out the spark plug it had water in its electrodes.,

so i think three bond sucks,so i took out the head, cleaned both cylinders top and cleaned head an gasket, then i put them back together and gone to ride. 8)

when i came back home,i waited it to get cold and check the water level, and guess what,it was gone again, where?? :-k into the RH cylinder again

so here is my question

do you think i need to replace the head gasket??

or the head is warped??
please tell me waht you think

normaly you can't re-use a headgasket, so yes, buy a new one

you have to check if the head is warped yourself, use a good straight rule. the manual details that, cylinder head warp inspection.

Don't forget to check your base gaskets. I picked up a 1S with a siezed motor once and when I pulled it down I found that someone had assembled it without base gaskets (just a smear of clear silicone in it's place [-( ) letting water in to the cylender. #-o

If it's not 'steamy' out the exhaust, I'd check the gearbox oil level in case it's geting past the pump seals ??

Good luck !

my kr1s was doing the same take the head off an rub it on a flat serfice with fine wet an dry and use a kawasaki head gasket. Mine was filling the header tank an getting in to the left hand cylinder but i did use a pattern head gasket first time round big mistake.
