Washer between barrel and power valve shaft thingy?

Post by raineyuk »

Hi guys,

I bought my KR1S about 3 years ago and have been (very) slowly restoring it whilst also doing the same to a house, so its taking a while!

I've had all my powder coating and painting done and have got to the stage where I'm sticking the top end back on the engine (thats the only engine work I'm doing as the bottom end appears fine) but when I went to put the actual power valves into the barrels and was about to put the head on, I noticed in the manual that there look to be washer type things that go onto the power valves prior to the head going on??

I can't find mine anywhere and as the engine was apart when I bought the bike, might never even have had them.

Can anyone tell me exactly what these are and if they're just a normal washer, what the thickness of them is please?

Many thanks for any help! I'm properly looking forward to getting this running now and heading out for a ride at last!

Cheers

Jason

PS - If anyone has 2 spare head bolts they'd like to sell, I also need them!

there are no washers on to of the valves.

if you look at the parts list (right upper corner of the site), you'll see there is nothing, except the seals

there are dowels/pins to locate base of cylinder to crankcase
and likewise smaller dowels/pins for the head to cylinder

but the only thing to do with the KIPS valves is the seals
4x part number 92049-1238
they mount into the top side of head - theyre probably still in it
they are common seal between many KDX and KX models
so aftermarket equivalent size should be available cheaper than stock

ask HERE if KWACKMAN12 (Gary) has any sets left

Thats absolutely brilliant. Thanks so much Kr1R for such a helpful reply. I'll drop Gary a message in a bit for sure.
